Patrick Mitchell designed an Arduino shield that allowed for you to add voice to your electronic designs.  He has been able to minimise that design into a much less inexpensive, and smaller unit.  This unit has a 254 word library that consists of colours, commands, months/days/time, numbers, directions, feelings, units of measurement, security words, math lingo, and general words; all of which are spoken by "Lucy" - A lovely female voice with an English accent! Meet "The Little Buddy Talker" Arduino compatible speech kit set!  It is Production Ready, and eager to land in your hands!

This little guy is easily soldered into a protoboard, connected to directly, or plugged into a breadboard.

The Library:

Below, Patrick Mitchell have used some basic code that instructs the LBT "Little Buddy Talker" to play all 254 words in succession.  Each word is addressed, and is controlled via SPI.  As long as your platform has SPI capability, you'll be able to control the LBT with no problem!

Below is the link to the product page.  Currently, it only holds the downloadable library that shows each word, and it's SPI address. I will be adding videos and Arduino code samples as the campaign rolls on:

You can connect to the SPI communication lines either from the top of bottom sides of the board, or from the left side of the board.  There are five connections that need to be made.  The 5v line pin is the power supply line, the GD line is the DC ground line, DI is the SKI data input line, SC is the SPI SCLK line, and the CS line is the "Chip Select" SPI pin.

The Accessories:

Most reward tiers include 5x female-to-male wire connectors, which allow for you to connect your Little Buddy Talker unit to your SPI platform:

Some rewards include stereo cables, but many do not.  Stereo cables can be found in most households, and are sold at any dollar store you might come across.  The stereo cable connects between the Little Buddy Talker audio output jack, to the stereo input of any audio amplifier (Computer speakers, Bose players, etc).

Connecting To Your Little Buddy Talker!:

The Little Buddy Talker connects easily to any breadboard or prototyping PCB, which makes it SUPER simple to get your project off the ground immediately!

It takes mere seconds to connect your Arduino UNO to the Little Buddy Talker.  Mere seconds!  Five connections, and you're ready to rock and roll!  Connect the stereo cable from the LBT to the stereo input of your audio player, and you'll have variable volume at your fingertips!

Note: This is a pre order. Same is expected to ship by April 2018.
